Are the fragrances you sell 100% authentic?
Yes. All fragrances are sourced from trusted and/or authorized vendors, or directly from the manufacturers. We do not sell fake, knock-off, or imitation fragrances. We do not alter or compromise the fragrance during the transfer process into a decant.TheScentChase.com is entirely independent and is a separate entity from the manufacturers and/or brand owners of the niche and designer fragrances we carry. TheScentChase.com guarantee's that the content available through TheScentChase.com are genuine product(s) independently re-bottled and repackaged by TheScentChase.com. There is no affiliation or association with the brand, designer or designer's manufacturer. TheScentChase.com does not have any agreement(s) authorizing us to re-bottle or repackage the fragrances.
How do you decant fragrances?
We do all decanting in a sterilized environment. The entire process is done in a sterilized laminar flow hood. (Laminar flow hoods are a workspace that pushes HEPA filtered air through the work area. This filtered air flow prevents contaminants from entering the area and compromising the fragrance when transferring it into a sample vile. They are typically used in laboratory settings to protect samples.) Each fragrance has its own dedicated extraction tool. This prevents cross contamination of the fragrances. The samples do not leave the laminar flow hood workspace until they are sealed.
What is a decant?
A decant is another name for a sample bottle. Decanting is the act of transferring liquid into another place. We decant fragrances from the original bottle into smaller sample sized bottles.
What is the purpose of decanting samples?
We provide a decanting service for two reasons.
- It allows people to try a fragrance before committing to a full size bottle. This is important because most stores will not take back fragrances once they are opened. This means if you spent hundreds of dollars on a fragrance and don't like it? You're stuck with it.
- It allows people to own/experience fragrance at a much more approachable price point. The lower cost of samples also means a person can own a much more wide variety of fragrances without spending a lot of money. They also take up much less space.
How many sprays can I get out of the samples?
2ml Sample Atomizer - roughly 30 sprays
5ml Sample Atomizer - roughly 75 sprays
(Results may vary depending on how a person sprays.)
How should I store my fragrances?
Fragrances should be...
- Stored away from direct sunlight.
- Stored at room temperature.
- Stored upright.
- Away from high humidity.
- Away from constant temperature fluctuations.
Common places fragrances are stored are drawers, closets, or in a cabinet.
Do you ship nationwide?
No, we currently do not ship nationwide. We only serve the local Austin area. Customers can choose between curbside pickup at our store, or delivery via Uber Eats. (If within the delivery radius. If not, the order must be picked up.)
